The greatest art offers us images by which to imagine our lives.
And once the imagination has been awakened it is procreative: through it
we can give more than we were given, say more than we had to say.

How Does Artopic.org Work?
Artopic.org grows its focus and reach depending on the mix of current authors, anticipating an unique gestalt. Individuals or groups interested in contributing as authors are welcome to join Artopic.org for a 3–4 month period. Focusing on their particular local, authors present their unique viewpoint on the visual arts, art culture and the current arts vibe.
Where to Begin?
There is a diverse and rich cultural scene in the SF Bay Area and a few people are talking about it on the internet (see our links section). The SF Bay Area, as a particular region, has five art degree granting colleges/universities, six (and counting…) major museums or visual art institutions, many long-term and locally invested contemporary art galleries, a plethora of art-alternative artist-run galleries, bio/info tech resources and stock option fueled art collectors, a history of respectable entrepreneurship, pioneering members of art and art history as well as a famous relaxed social atmosphere…so what the heck is going on around town people!?!? What are the movements, who has their finger on the pulse of the SF Bay Area and/or their ear to the ground for new events, secret deals and future art-related events?
To this end, what is happening in Los Angeles, New York, Berlin, Zurich, London, Rotterdam, Shanghai or Dubai?
Who Will Participate?
As artists/curators/theorists think globally and travel extensively while living in the SF Bay Area and/or in other major cities internationally, the situation exists to open up to an international perspective as well as bring some lively thinking and writing into a down-home regional context. All authors, previous and present, are welcome to continue to comment and continue their dialogue without restriction once their tenure is complete. In addition, Artopic.org seeks a dialogue with readers, who are invited to register and comment on any post that impresses, questions or informs their daily art life.
CALLING ALL PARTICIPANTS: Let’s start a dialogue…
